Bordered by Victoria Park Avenue to the west, Lake Ontario to the south, the Rouge River and the Little Rouge Creek and the Scarborough-Pickering Townling to the east and Steeles Avenue E. to the north, Scarborough Ontario Canada is actually an eastern вЂsuburb' of Toronto. The origin of Scarborough was a collection of little villages and overtime these villages became one diverse town. Scarborough is a popular destination for immigrants thus Scarborough is a very cultured area. Scarborough was amalgamated with several other areas in 1998. These areas were North York, Etobicoke, York, East York and the вЂold city of Toronto' and together they all became the new city of Toronto.

Despite the diversity and bringing of many cultures together, the crime rate in Scarborough is lower than any other area of Toronto proper.
The Scarborough Bluffs is a beautiful earthen cliff formation found in Scarborough along the shore of Lake Ontario. The Scarborough Bluffs are approximately 9 miles long and more than 200 feet high in places. The Scarborough Bluffs are part of a bigger and more beautiful natural formation called the Iroquois Shoreline. The Iroquois Shoreline confirms Glacial Lake Iroquois, a prehistoric lake, which decreased in size during the last Ice Age. Over the years erosion has caused concern for some residents with homes along the Scarborough Bluffs. Many have evacuated their homes and many homes have been condemned. Recently the Scarborough Bluffs have been reinforced by natural parks and recreation groups. The groups reinforced the Scarborough Bluffs with construction rubble infilling and limestone breakwaters.
Along the Rouge River Valley there are many areas which are still natural and not touched by man. In these areas many different wildlife may be found such as foxes, deer and coyotes.
The climate in Scarborough is moderate for a Canadian area. The weather is moderate due to the Toronto area and Scarborough being located more south of the country. Scarborough's proximity to Lake Ontario also affects the moderate climate. Summers are warm and humid, and winters are typically very cold, as would be expected for winters in Canada.
Scarborough's economy and job market are a component of the economy of Toronto. The highest percentage of employers in Scarborough is manufacturers. This differs from Toronto, however the rest of the highest percentage of employers in both Scarborough and Toronto are similar. Additionally, several companies have their headquarters in Scarborough. The fact that the headquarters of these mentioned companies are in Scarborough helps the economy and job market of Scarborough by hiring locals.
